The wedding is going to take place outside in a public garden setting at 4.05pm. My next step is tomorrow I plan to visit the place were the wedding is to take place around the same time. This lets me look around and pick some good spots to take the photos. Also I can check out the lighting as well. Although there is no guarantee that the lighting is going to be the same on the day. It will give me a good idea of the total setting, and what camera gear I will take with me. They have requested that I take some shots at the bride and grooms places where they will be getting ready. I am also required to take after wedding shots in another location nearby which I am familiar with. They have requested photos to be taken of there grandparents and out of town guests. I have arranged for a member of there family (the brides sister) to work with me in arranging the people for these photos. As I do not know who they will be, it is a big help if you can arrange for some help from a family friend to do this. It just makes the day run more smoothly. I will also be taking shots at the reception the must have shots of the cutting of the wedding cake and the first dance etc. Also a request to take some candid shots of their guest's just having fun. Well thats it for now stay tuned for the next step in photographing a wedding.

Jeff

Wedding photography

Hi sorry for not posting for a while but I have been busy moving house. Also I have been hired to do another wedding shoot. But this time I am going to go through the steps I take before, during and after the wedding and write about what I have done. I hope this will help those people who are looking at photographing weddings in the future or have been asked by family, friends to photograph there wedding.

First I was contacted by the groom's mother to ask If I am available to shoot her son's wedding on the 25/08/07. During the conversation we came to a price agreement and I got the contact details of the bride and groom. I set up a meeting with them on the 20/08/07 to discuss the wedding photos they would like and I showed them my portfolio. I use a wedding planner for them to fill out relevant questions I need to know before the wedding takes place. You can download this simple word document I use for free at my website http://www.photographyscene.com/Free-Downloads.html I left it with them with my contact info.
I received a call on the 22/08/07 from the bride to be saying they have completed the wedding planner. When I have fully reviewed what they have requested I will continue to share with you the information and my next steps. Until then happy snapping.

Jeff.

My new website launch

Hi all my name is Jeff Dykes and I have just launched my new photography website about a week ago.
